THE "LCA BACKYARD" STADIUM
The rink is 8' x 38' in size and can be used during the day or night curling. Players may stand on the ice as per traditional play or stand off the sheet and curl from behind the hack.
THE "STONES"
The first major hurdle in curling, what do you use for curling stones? Do you want to spend a crazy amount of money on the real thing? Not for a backyard hobby. Do we go with the inexpensive route of filling milk cartons with colored water? Not as durable as what we would like. So the solution? Dog bowls, duct tape, cement, and black pipe...yes. We enjoy creative engineering here at LCA.

We have LCA shirts, long-sleeved shirts, beanies, and sweatshirts. There are also LCA bumper/refrig stickers available. Contact me if interested!
Once the decision has been made and depending on the weather, the rink is typically filled in multiple stages the first week of January. The tarp is placed in the frame and all decals are placed in before filling. The entire process of actually filling the rink has taken up to 6 hours to fill.
